International Women's Day

On March 8,  International Women's Day, we can take inspiration from Maria Montessori, when she wrote in 1907:

The time has come for action. We have talked enough. It is time to close the ranks, assess our situation, and act.

These were some of the concluding words to an article championing women’s rights, and calling them to embrace their own responsibilities, as published in La Vita on 5 May 1907. Maria Montessori called women not to merely voice negative feelings about their disadvantaged position in society, but to act and be encouraged by positive developments outside of Italy.

"Imagine a gender-equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women's equality. Collectively we can all break the bias. Celebrate women's achievements. Raise awareness against bias. Take action for equality" via United Nations.
